Site launch: The Megané Experiment

This was a very quick build and a steep learning curve with the Facebook Graph API integration. The site is PureMVC, AS3 and XML driven. Also it integrates with a Renault server for saving information about each user and their betting scores for the competition.
An interesting campaign with some great prizes available, but be quick as this is only for 9 more days.

Site launch: Bodyshop Rainforest range

This site is built using the PureMVC framework (AS3.0) and is XML driven to support multiple languages. This is the site I wrote the dynamic text around an ellipse code for, as it is used for the range menu.
It is a great looking site with some nice water and light effects going on in the background.

Site launch: HP Make it big

It has been a while since I have been able to update this blog and in that time I have completed about 5 different sites at multiple agencies. I am going to make an effort to get them all up here, but it has been hard to keep track of what has gone live and what is still being deployed. The first small site that is actually live is HP Make it big.
This is built to support multiple European languages and is driven by XML.

Site Launch: Nissan Qashqai differentiation

This site for Nissan finally launched last week almost 4 months after I completed the build. It is AS3 and uses the PureMVC framework. It is to help customers compare the two different Qashqai models and their respective features. I really like the way the paint splashes around in this campaign.

Twitter crossdomain.xml

Twitter has different crossdomain.xml policy files for the root domain and the 'search' subdomain. This is great news for Flash developers wanting to use their data.

Site launch: Adam&Eve Xmas Countdown

This is a fun 'Flip' Clock that is counting down the days until Xmas.
It is AS3.0 and chooses images randomly from a large set.

Site launch: Production Express

This was an uncomplicated build: an eight-page microsite built using AS3.0 with XML driven data and limited animations.
It came together quickly and I'm happy with the end result.

IE bug with HTTPS and XML

Here is a great post about how to make sure your XML loaded over HTTPS in Internet Explorer doesn't fall victim to a nasty bug.

If you're getting Sandbox Security errors but your crossdomain.xml file is set up correctly then you might need to alter the header values in your server response. This really is a weird bug and could have taken a long time to get to the bottom of.
Something else to note is that Fiddler2 interfered with the crossdomain.xml loading and caused this error to recur.

Site Launch – Fairytale Fights

This is v2 of Fairytale Fights and a more complete and extensive site than v1. It is AS3.0 and XML driven, and uses the GAIA framework. It supports 6 languages and uses video extensively. This game looks like it would be great fun to play and the artwork for the game is brilliant.

Site launch – Moonbeam Films

This site for Moonbeam Films went live last week. It is AS3.0, XML controlled and uses the Gaia framework. It also uses the Google Maps API which is very easy to set up and use.
